LADIES’ PENNANTS / INTERCLUB

Riverside Cup – Unfortunately, our first foray into this competition was a somewhat baptism by fire, when we encountered an experienced Eketahuna team who beat us 1-5. However, on Friday 22nd March, our team of Pam Bisset, Steph Tisdall, Deb Henricksen, Sue Ross, Trish Cuttance and Raewyn Newman beat Masterton 3½ - 2½. Next round is this coming Friday 5th April at Masterton vs Martinborough. The team is Pam, Deb, Steph, Lynne Huddleston, Trish and Raewyn. GOOD LUCK, LADIES.

Weekend Pennant – On Sunday 10th March at Waimarino golf course between Raetihi and Ohakune, our team lost to Palmerston North A 3-nil. Then Steph and Bronwyn Smith played at Levin on Sunday 24th and halved against Castlecliff. The team has slipped to 3rd place, but just 2 points off the lead. Next outing is against Manawatu at Feilding on Sunday 14th April.

Monday Pennant - on 11th March in round 3 at Levin, our team of Lisa Cotton, Pam BIsset, Steph Tisdall, Seona Ashton, Mary Bollard and Trish Cuttance narrowly lost 3½ to 4½ to Wanganui. Round 4 is here at home where we play Feilding 1. The team is Pam, Steph, Lynne Huddleston, Pam Huddleston, Paula McCool, and Margaret Alding. All the best ladies.

MEN’S PENNANTS / MARQUIS SHIELD

Pennant – On 9th March, our team had a 5/4 win over Palmerston North at Palmerston North. In round 3 here at home against Manawatu, the team of Tawera Williams, Lee Thomson, Shaun Smith, Noel Coombe, Keiran Pierey and Jason Smith proved too strong for the visitors and won 7 – 2. They are currently placed first with one more round to play at Tawhero vs Tawhero.

The second round of Marquis Shield will be played on Sunday 21st April at Mahunga vs Masterton.
