NOTE THESE PROGRAMME UPDATES

Ladies Shootout now Sunday 11th October (from 4th)

Round 1 Winter Cup (Par) catch-up now Saturday 17th October

Round 4 Winter Cup (Medal) catch-up now Saturday 24th October

Ladies’ Christmas Cheer brought forward a day to Wednesday 11th November from Thursday 12th which is the new date for Rural Support Trust Ambrose tournament (originally 15th October)

Sorry, Thursday guys, can you please move your haggle day to Friday 13th that week dependant on possible coring. Much appreciated. To be confirmed.

In the past few months, we have lost two valuable members of our Club.

Lynne Huddleston passed away suddenly in June after a short illness. In recent years as a committee member, Lynne had the time to spend quietly in the background working on our Health and Safety policies, the Strategic Plan for the club and she devoted many hours to our juniors. Lynne was a member of the ladies’ pennant and interclub teams, and records show that in 2001 she had a handicap index of 7.6. She scored two holes in one, both on number 18. A feat not too many can claim.

Peter Johns died as the result of an accident in late September. Peter was a past President and a member of the Eagles Society. He was an active member of the club, organising Thursday golf and playing on Saturdays whenever he could. An accomplished golfer, Peter wasn’t far off the winners’ circle in recent times, after a bit of a lean patch, He joined other club members to play at Cape Kidnappers in August, not that successful, but he enjoyed the experience. The records show that since 2000, he had logged almost 1500 rounds of golf.

Our thoughts and support are with Lynne and Peter’s families as they navigate the difficult times ahead.
