Interclub/Pennants

18-Hole Men’s D-Grade Pennant – Matchplay in teams of 6 “off-the-stick” singles and 4BBB.

On Saturday 24th January our team of Andy Gratton, Jared Brock, Logan McHardy, Brett MacDougall, Brett Richards and Jeremy Blatchford had an overwhelming win 8-1 at home over Tawhero. Unfortunately, this result was reversed on Saturday 14th February when the team of Steve McHardy, Lee Thomson, Brett R, Kelsey Beales, Brett Mac and Jeremy had the tables turned on them, losing by the same margin to the Hawkestone team at Hawkestone.

The next outing for the team is 28th February when they are home to Feilding, then away to Palmerston North on 14th March. Currently in 3rd place, just 1.5 points behind Hawkestone and Feilding.

Rd 1 Marquis Shield - Men’s Wairarapa interclub was scheduled to be played in Masterton vs Mahunga on Sunday 15th February, but the host course was closed. This round is now to be played on Sunday 28th June when we were down to host. The final round will now be here on Sunday 12th July.

Rd 1 Riverside Cup - Women’s Wairarapa interclub has begun and on the first outing our team had a good 4-2 win over Riversdale Beach at Castlepoint. The victorious team was Steph Tisdall, Janelle Toheriri, Sally Dryland, Lynne Huddleston, Seona Ashton and Raewyn Newman. Great start ladies, well done! Round 2 will be played at Eketahuna vs Masterton on Friday 27th February.

Rd 1 Weekend Pennant – Women’s Manawatu-Wanganui pennants. 2-person team, playing singles and 4BBB on handicap. Yesterday our team of Pam Bisset and Seona Ashton had a clean sweep 3-0 over Castlecliff Blue at Palmerston North. A good start also, ladies, congratulations!! Sorry you didn’t realise you were playing 4 ball as well.

Rd 1 Monday Pennant - Women’s Manawatu-Wanganui pennants comprising 6 players also playing singles and 4BBB on handicap begins on Monday 23rd February at Wanganui vs Manawatu. Watch this space!

Coronation Medal – Open to players in silver division only, best nett score and ties.

Aotearoa Cup – Open to players in silver and bronze divisions, best nett score and ties.

Best Gross Cup – Open to players in silver and bronze divisions, best gross score and ties.

Footnote: In 2024 Raewyn Newman won the national Aotearoa Cup and in 2025 Trish Cuttance won both the Aotearoa Cup and Veteran’s Trophy. A great achievement for our club.

 Dudley Arms twos sponsorship

Thanks to Marcus Anderson who is generously sponsoring either a beer or a wine for a member who scores a hole in two on 14th Dudley on a club competition day. To redeem, the two is recorded on a sheet in the bar.

Programme Handbook

The handbook is coming back by popular demand. Our Secretary Margaret has arranged sponsorship, updated contact details and the digital file has been sent off to the printers. Exciting times! This is not just a calendar, although that of course is an important part of the book. There is a wealth of information contained within regarding competitions, contacts and past winners of trophies. I urge you, NO I challenge you to read through the handbook when you get yours! I’m sure you will learn something. Support our sponsors of the handbook when you can.
