CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LADIES’ NATIONAL TEAMS DISTRICT WINNERS

Last Friday at Feilding, the two Pahiatua 4-ball combinations took out Manawatu-Wanganui District National teams’ competition with a stunning 2-team total of 135 nett, 3 ahead of Manawatu.

Our team pairs were Pam Huddleston and Margaret Alding (nett 73) and Tracy Crispin and Rona Squires who combined to fire a brilliant 62 nett! These ladies could be in line for a national title depending on how the finalists from other districts do.

Our finalists are decided after a qualifying nett round scheduled on our programme, these four ladies were selected after our results were in. Congratulations, well done, a great result.

EVER WANTED TO UNDERSTAND THE COURSE RATING PROCESS OR TO BECOME A COURSE RATER?

Well, now’s your chance – open to greenkeepers, club staff or any club member.

Phil Aickin, from Golf New Zealand, will be coming to the Manawatu-Wanganui region on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th of May to run a course on course rating.  Phil will hold the course at Palmerston North Golf Club.

The timing of the days is as follows:

Day 1    1-5pm   Presentation on the process, Day 2    9.00am Fully re-rate Palmerston North GC

The aim is to have multiple raters around the different regions of the Manawatu-Wanganui District to make it easier for the raters to rate the courses closest to them.

If you are interested and want to attend, contact Dayne Bulloch by email Dayne.Bulloch@golfnz.org or phone him on 021 732 771
