FROM THE COMMITTEE MEETING

Effective rom May 1st, the following changes will be applied:

Cart hire will rise to $30 for non-members and $15 for members.

Thursday green fees of $15 will be abolished and non-members will be charged the full green fee rate of $25.

Please note: We have reciprocal-rights green fees of $15 with Eketahuna and Linton Camp only, there is no change to that.

GREENS CORING

Thanks from Jason and Steve for the members’ co-operation during the coring. It is much appreciated. It is a necessary “evil” and it has gone well for us.

MIXED RESULTS FOR LADIES PENNANTS

We had two changes in the teams last week – in Silver, Pam Bisset was unable to play due to other commitments and was replaced by Deb Henricksen. Rona Squires had to withdraw from the District team and was replaced by T Cuttance. Both teams suffered narrow losses. Silver 2½ to 3½ to Manawatu at Eketahuna, while at home, District went down 2-3 to Wanganui

On Sunday at Palmerston North, playing the home team, Lisa Cotton and Lindy Wheeler lost 2-1.

On Monday, the Silver team of Lisa, Pam Bisset, Lindy and Sue Ross playing at Feilding had a loss against the home team, while at Rangatira the District team of Margaret Brislane, Tracy Crispin, Seona Ashton and Trish Cuttance beat a Levin team.

PEOPLE STUFF:

HAPPY RETIREMENT – LYNNE HUDDLESTON

After 19 years as Principal of Pahiatua School, member Lynne retired this week. She has said she wants to play more golf, and we will be pleased to see her out on the course with the ladies on a Tuesday – or any day! She might even get the call up to play in our Silver Pennant team! Good luck in your retirement, Lynne.

NEW MEMBERS

Welcome to Nathan Lozell and Aaron Beardmore. Hope you enjoy your time out on the course. Please make them welcome when you see them at golf.

FAREWELL CLARRIE AND MARGARET MUDGWAY

Club stalwarts Clarrie and Margaret are heading to the Bay (Hawkes) to live. I’m sure all members of the club wish them both all the best in their new home. They will visit back down here from time to time, so you might see them.

The Club owes a big debt to Clarrie, especially in the use of his wood splitter, and of course, when he was well, he was one of our Chipmunks

CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS OF OUTSIDE TOURNAMENTS

Congrats to Pam Bisset on her win at Eketahuna recently and to Lindy Wheeler who won a recent 5-course tournament in Hawkes Bay and a further Vets tournament in Taranaki. Well done ladies.
