BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO BRONWYN SMITH – HOLE IN ONE ON #12 ON SATURDAY

 PLEASE NOTE AREA TO THE RIGHT OF #12 HAS REVERTED TO A PENALTY AREA – THERE IS NO LONGER FREE RELIEF IF YOU HIT YOUR BALL IN THERE – IE IT IS NO LONGER GUR

If you can, you can play the ball from within the penalty area with no penalty, and you can move any loose impediments without penalty as well – if the ball moves, it’s a penalty and you have to replace the ball. PLAY FROM THERE ONLY IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.

Your relief outside the penalty area with one penalty shot is lateral relief of 2 club lengths from the point of entry. Rule 17.1b

Sunday 1st March at Martinborough: The team of Noel Coombe, Danny Pierey, Nigel Pearson and Kieran Pierey (Seniors), Andrew McKnight, Mark Field, Richard Stewart and Steven McHardy (Intermediates), Peter Johns, Mark Hemopo, Michael Galvin and John Metcalfe (Juniors), while not winning, acquitted themselves pretty well in going down 4 ½ - 7 ½ to Eketahuna. Congratulations to those who recorded wins, the matches were all very close.

This Sunday 15th March here at home: The team to play on Sunday is yet to be finalised. They play Carterton. Good luck team.

 LADIES’ PENNANT:

Lisa and Lindy lost 2-1 to Manawatu at Wanganui on Sunday – good to see they are on the score board.

Their next outing is on Sunday 29th at Levin playing against Wanganui.

On Monday 16th here at home our District ladies’ team of Pam Huddleston Margaret Drysdale, Rona Squires and Tracy Crispin take on Rangatira – good luck ladies. The Silver team has a bye.

 CLUBS NZ NATIONAL TEAMS TOURNAMENT (PEN HAWKINS ROSEBOWL)

Tony (TK) Kerins and Mark (Tommo) Thomson travelled south to play in the Pen Hawkins team event at Templeton Golf Club in Christchurch on 3rd, 4th and 5th March. They represented the Tararua Club golf adjunct, and the host club is Hornby Working Men’s Club. They finished a creditable 8th from over 100 teams. Well done, guys.
