LADIES’ PENNANT

I omitted to mention last week that Lisa Cotton and Lindy Wheeler had their first outing of Championship Pennant at Manawatu playing the strong Palmerston North team. They lost their “off the stick” matches,, overwhelmed by players on +0.5 and 0.6 handicap indices. This Sunday the team plays a Rangitikei/Marton mixed team at Feilding. Good luck there, ladies.

On Monday the other pennant teams are playing at Marton. The Silver team, Pam Bisset, Deb Henricksen, Colleen Daysh and Lindy Wheeler play against Feilding while the District team, Pam Huddleston, Margaret Brislane, Margaret Drysdale and Tracy Crispin play Eketahuna. Good luck to all.

CARAVAN FEES – It has come to our notice that not all the caravaners who come and stay here are paying their fees. In fact, it seems a few of them are staying at the river and coming in (one lot at 5.30am) to use our shower facilities. They must pay $10 a night for each vehicle – they are not guaranteed use of our facilities unless they stay and pay. To get the $15 green fee, they must stay overnight. Don’t be afraid to challenge any caravan owners who are abusing our facilities. Check the sign in book if you are unsure. Take note of their POP number so we can chase them up.

PROGRAMME CHANGE FOR WAIRARAPA VETS – Wairarapa Vets day has been brought forward to Thursday 2nd April instead of 9th (the Thursday before Easter). The reserve day will be 9th. Please mark this is your programme book. Tee off is with the Thursday golfers, but at 12 noon, instead of 12.15pm.
