PGC Newsletter 16.05.2019

WOODPECKERS REQUIRED PLEASE: There is to be a working bee to do firewood tomorrow start 8.30 – 9am. There are only a few volunteers at the moment, so more are required please. They will have Clarrie’s splitter. Please contact Gerald Smith for more information, or just turn up. Thanks.

MARQUIS SHIELD: The team to will be playing Carterton at Mahunga on Sunday. Good luck guys.

CLUB CARTS: Thanks to those members who are co-operating with our club cart policy of booking the carts before use and paying their hire charge.

A reminder please that the carts are not to be removed from the shed without prior booking or notification to Pam Bisset – a text is fine. It was decided at the meeting last night that those hiring carts should fill in the green fee sheet and, using a green fee sticker to identify the hireage, pay the charge into the green fee box. Thank you. Any further queries should be made to Andrew McKnight.

MONTHLY MEETING: I will have more from last night’s meeting in the next newsletter.

LADIES PENNANTS: Congratulations to the Silver Pennant team who had a big win (5-1) over Palmerston North/Wanganui at Palmerston North on Monday. The team is in 1st equal place with Rangatira who they have yet to play. They have four more rounds. The District team unfortunately lost to Rangatira. They are now into the semi-finals, playing off for 4th and 5th place.

GOLF RULES EXAM: Expressions of interest are being asked for regarding sitting a Level 1 or Level 2 exam which will be held at Manawatu Golf Club on Sunday 26th May at 1.30pm. If you are interested, please contact Ian Anderson by email iganderson@outlook.co.nz or phone him on either 06 356 6520 or 027 343 8927 for more information.

You can also practice doing either a Beginner and/or Intermediate and Advanced level quiz online at www.randa.org, then go to RULES>Rules Education>Rules Quiz. It’s pretty cool, actually.
