PGC Newsletter 03.02.2022

Kia ora, eveyone, happy new year. After some 6 weeks, here I am back again with what I hope you will find is an interesting and informative newsletter.

Aotearoa NZ is in the RED traffic light system of COVID-19 Protection Framework. WE CAN STILL PLAY GOLF!! YAY. There are some basic rules we need to adhere to, see below. The committee has a responsibility to follow the rules as set down regardless, so please don’t make things hard for them.

On course facilities (toilets) and equipment (rubbish bins, drinking fountains, rakes, and pins) can be shared by vaccinated and non-vaccinated players alike, and yes you can remove the pins etc.

You will see that our tournaments are designated Vax Pass Required. We need to protect our members and visitors as best we can.

Please scan our QR code or register your name in the book by the green fees.

Vaccine passes are required for entry to the clubrooms please ensure you have these on you. 100 people maximum allowed on the premises

From Friday 4th February masks are to be worn when entering the club and may only be removed to eat or drink once seated. You have to wear them when going to the bar or the toilet. Those front-facing serving in the bar, kitchen or starter’s office MUST wear a mask

Nau mai haere mai to these new members – Joanne Bisset, Emma Matheson, Lynell Watson, Janie Green, Louise Walker and Joseph Gavigan.

Welcome! We hope you enjoy this wonderful game of golf with its rewards and frustrations

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th January – Bush Classic – see results on our website, Click here.

A special thanks to our members who played in this tournament and especially those who helped along the way to do things like the draw, collate results, manage cart hire, cook the BBQ, run out (and pick up) the CTP pins, help with issuing cards, checking vax passes, and most of all fed and watered the masses. You don’t know how much you are appreciated and how what you do, as well as the support of our sponsors contributes so much to making this tournament “sing”. Thank you all very much.

PLEASE NOTE – The Bush Classic will be held next year on Saturday 14th (Eketahuna) and Sunday 15th January (Pahiatua). When entries open get your name and entry fee in pronto, the tournament committee will be bound by covid rules and may not be able to allow the numbers they did this year. Don’t muck around too long, you snooze, you’ll lose, trust me. First in and all that.
