CHARITY AMBROSE TOURNAMENT - On Saturday, 11 March, Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway team hosted a charity event for Ronald McDonald House at the Pahiatua Golf Club. The day was extremely successful right from the start, attracting a full field of 145 turning out on a beautiful Pahiatua day for some Ambrose golf.

The prize table sported an array of amazing donated prizes. The mega raffle was a big hit; the first prize being a $1000 flight centre voucher. The initial winner of this prize re- gifted it to be auctioned off to raise even more money for the coffers.

At prize-giving, Te Ahu a Turanga Alliance staff member Kaye Allardice-Green delivered an emotional talk on the work of Ronald McDonald House, then Project Owner Interface Manager Grant Kauri gave a brief, informative update on how things are tracking on the hill. All in all, it was a very successful day, with the combined fundraising efforts realising in excess of $10,000 for charity.

The project team want to thank everyone for getting on board and supporting this event, helping to make it the success that it was, while PGC are very grateful to the Te Ahu a Turanga team for choosing to have their fundraiser at our course. Special mention goes to Kylie Bourke for her organisational skills and for keeping food and refreshments up to the players throughout the day.

Winners of the tournament were Team Fowler Homes, congratulations.

STOP PRESS!  I have been expressly asked to please inform you all that the winners of the Championship Fourball for 2022 season were Alec Devonshire and Colin (Duey) Wallace who defeated the President KPB and his grandson Taylor Hall. This wasn’t reported on earlier as the result was unknown due to the finals match not being played before season’s end, thereby missing both the prizegiving and the 2023 Programme handbook.
