FROM THE COMMITTEE MEETING

Leigh-Anne Gear to come on board as our Secretary from next month

Meeting with bar staff – Saturday 15th February at 10am, regular volunteers and ladies to attend

Subscriptions can be paid on the Green fee EFTPOS machine and the receipt tab should have your name on (same as cart hire) and put into green fee box. If subs are paid over the bar, the cash should be placed in a bag in the till for Andrew. Or pay online.

We are on the cusp of having to turn the water off due to river levels (as per our consent)

Men’s Qualifying similar to last year – seeding to be done with one qualifying round

Cart shed has been damaged due to logging operations.

Members (or anyone else) cannot help themselves to any wood or pinecones due to Health and Safety rules of the foresters. There will be a burn off and there will be firewood available to the club from pulp logs.

Griselinia hedge apparently not killed by logging operations

Club cart battery chargers have been purchased at a cost of $630 each.

Tree prices – We are just getting prices through now from China they have dropped quite a bit but we should exceed the estimate given. There is a pricing mechanism where the export logs can be sold at 12 month average prices which lessen any potential price drop. The financials are looking good and we look set to exceed the financial estimates.

WORLD HANDICAPPING SYSTEM – from the Handicapper:

Attached is a one-pager of what you need to know about the new World Handicapping System due to be implemented in early April. Your handicap index could change each time a card is entered into Dot Golf, so I am hoping that you will all set yourselves up in My Golf so you can check what your handicap is – this is particularly important if you play away at another club and your card is entered at that club – you cannot rely on the your index being current on the handicap sheets here in that instance.

New Zealand Golf acknowledges live handicapping will be a challenge for smaller Golf Clubs. They will provide a recommendation so that competitions remain accurate at home clubs, but members playing at another golf course will be expected to play off the handicap currently up to date on www.golf.co.nz.

It is your responsibility to know your index. Here are two ways to do this using your mobile phone:

  1. You can text your 7-digit membership number to 3673 (FORE) on your mobile to get your current index – easy as.
  2. Download the NZ Golf app and register / log in – you will need to verify your email (an email is sent to the email address in your DotGolf profile) you just need to click on a link to let them know that it is correct.

OR on your PC go to: https://www.golf.co.nz/MyGolf/Login.aspx, register for My Golf, then download the app from the Apple or Play Store

EMAIL ADDRESSES that we have for you have been added to your Dot Golf profile so that you can sign up for My Golf. If you have any problems registering, get in touch with Colleen by return email or call on 027 424 1464.
