MENS’ QUALIFYING: Tony has asked me to let you know that there will be qualifying rounds starting this Saturday. This is contrary to a decision that was made at the last committee meeting, but Tony has spoken with some of the men players and is going with the consensus of those directly affected.

LADIES PENNANTS: Two of the ladies’ teams will play pennants on Monday at Palmerston North – the round that was postponed. The Silver team is Pam Bisset, Deb Henricksen, Lindy Wheeler and Sue Ross playing PNth/Wanganui. The District team is Margaret Brislane, Trish Cuttance, Margaret Drysdale and Gwyn Sorensen and they play Rangatira. GOOD LUCK LADIES! Check out the revised draw for the rest of the season on the noticeboard.

MARQUIS SHIELD: A good result for the Marquis Shield men who travelled to Martinborough on Sunday and came away with a great win over Masterton. The match scores were 8/4 in the singles and 4/2 in fourball. The team was: Campbell MacGibbon, Danny Pierey, Nigel Pearson, Noel Coombe, Kieran Pierey, Andrew McKnight, Peter Bourke, Paddy Galvin, Mark Hemopo, Mark Thomson, Lionel Toheriri and Tony Lozell. Well done team! The next round is at Mahunga on Sunday 19th May when they play Carterton. Points for each trophy are as below after 3 rounds. The trophies (I think) are thus, Marquis Shield, overall shield winners on games and points; Workman Cup – seniors off the stick; Intermediate Cup – Intermediates on handicap; Sutherland Trophy – Juniors on handicap.
